The Lagoon 52 is a 52-foot French-built sailing catamaran with two hulls, a fly-bridge, four sleeping cabins (used as shade lounges on day charters), a galley and 60m² of deck. It's the same model the Caribbean charter fleets use, built for 12 guests in real comfort, not crammed-in capacity. A full-day charter makes it yours from 10:00 to 18:30: three islands, two snorkel stops, breakfast and a Thai lunch on board, and an anchorage for sunset.
Most day-charter catamarans on Samui are 38–44 feet and carry 12–20 guests at a time. The Lagoon 52 is the next class up, with a wider beam, more deck space, two heads and a proper galley. At 12 guests it's spacious; at 8 it feels like a private yacht.
Our captain has run this boat for six years. He's Thai, speaks fluent English, and knows the Gulf weather better than the official Samui forecasts. If a stop you've requested is unsafe that day (most often Pig Island in November, when the tides are wrong), he'll propose an alternative cove with a similar character.
The standard day visits three islands, your choice or our recommendation. Koh Som, a quiet, snorkel-friendly islet just off Samui's north-east coast near Bophut, is commonly the first stop. Koh Madsum (Pig Island), the iconic stop, lies off Samui's south coast, and the beach landing on Madsum's quiet south side is one most aggregator boats skip. We'll customize if you want: Five Islands for photographers, or Koh Wua Ta Lap for the Ang Thong viewpoint (park fees extra).
Breakfast and lunch are both served on board, with lunch plated on the foredeck. The default menu is Thai: green curry, grilled snapper, fried rice, fruit. A Western alternative is available on request, with pasta, salad, and grilled chicken or fish. Vegetarian and vegan are easy with 24 hours' notice; gluten-free needs 48.

A typical day
- Boarding at Bophut pier. Breakfast, welcome drinks and a briefing.
- Sail to the first island stop, commonly Koh Som, just off Samui's north-east coast.
- Snorkel and swim stop. Gear in the water, drinks on deck.
- Thai lunch served on the foredeck.
- Second island: typically the quiet south side of Koh Madsum (Pig Island), off Samui's south coast.
- Sunset leg: anchor at a final cove.
- Slow return.
- Back at Bophut pier.
Questions guests ask
Can we drink alcohol on board?
Yes. Alcohol isn't part of the package, so bring your own: beer, wine, spirits or champagne. The captain doesn't charge corkage. We kindly ask for nothing in glass on the foredeck (slip risk).
Can we swap the cooked lunch for sushi or a charcuterie?
Yes. Pre-order through us and we'll have it stocked. It adds ฿800–1,200 per head, depending on what you want.
How does it compare to the half-day charter?
The full day gives you three islands instead of one, plus breakfast and lunch on board. You can actually snorkel without watching the clock. It's worth the step up in price if you're six or more; for couples on a budget, the half day or the sunset is more efficient.
