An open-side 4×4 truck climbs the inland trails of Koh Samui, past coconut and rubber plantations and up to the Lat Wanon viewpoint where you see the entire island, then down to a waterfall most aggregator tours skip because it's a 200m walk from the road. Big Buddha, the Lady Monk temple, Magic Garden, and lunch are all part of the same half day.
The 4×4 is a Land Rover Defender or similar with bench seats in the bed and a canvas top. Eight guests max: two on each side bench, four in the rear-facing seats. It's a bumpy ride; if you have back issues, the front passenger seat is the smooth spot, so ask us to reserve it.
Lat Wanon is the 360° viewpoint over Chaweng. From there you can see Koh Phangan to the north, Ang Thong to the west, and the entire Chaweng Bay to the east.
The 'secret' waterfall is actually Na Muang 2. It isn't really secret, but the tour-bus crowd skips it because it takes a 200m walk on a dirt path. The waterfall pool is deep enough to swim, and there's a rope swing some guests use (at your own risk).
The same half day takes in Big Buddha (the iconic 12m gold Buddha at the north end), the Lady Monk temple, and Magic Garden in the hills, with coconut and rubber plantations along the trails in between. Lunch is at a panoramic restaurant, and the guide narrates the whole loop.

Questions guests ask
Is this off-road or just sightseeing?
Half off-road, half sightseeing. Koh Samui isn't huge, and the jungle 'safari' covers 25–30km of mountain trails plus some scenic-road stops. Real off-road is the Off-Road through the Interior tour.
Will we get wet?
At the waterfall, yes, so bring swim clothes and a towel. The truck has an awning, so even in light rain you stay dry.
Is half-day enough?
For the classic loop, yes. The half day covers Big Buddha, the Lady Monk temple, the 360° viewpoint, Magic Garden, Namuang waterfall, and the plantations, with lunch included. If you want Hin Ta Hin Yai or your own list of stops, the private island circuit lets you name them.
