Off-Road Through the Interior
Khao Pom ridge, Lamai back trails, waterfalls you can't reach in a sedan. Driver Pong knows where they are.
Driver Pong has been off-roading Koh Samui for 14 years. He knows which creek beds run dry in low season, which mountain roads turn to mud after a storm, and which waterfall pool is deep enough to swim. Half a day, private 4×4, three trail stops, your interest sets the route.
Koh Samui's interior is small (about 12 km north-south, 15 km east-west) but mountainous. The roads inland from Lamai climb fast — within 20 minutes of the beach you're at 300-400m elevation in second-growth jungle. Most of these roads aren't on Google Maps because they're private estate access or forest-service trails.
Pong's truck is a Land Cruiser 70-series with a snorkel, lift kit, and proper off-road tires. It can do everything the route demands — the creek crossings, the rutted ridge climb to Khao Pom, the steep descent on the Lamai back side. He won't do anything that risks the truck or guests, but the route gets you to places no rental Jeep can reach.
The 'hidden waterfall' is a real one — it's about 200m off a forest-service track, no signage, no other tourists. Pool is deep enough to swim. Bring swim clothes if you want to.
Lunch is your call. There's a hill-top café Pong likes (Thai home-cooking, ฿200-300/pax, mountain view). Or we can pack a picnic if you want to eat at the waterfall.

Book Off-Road Through the Interior on WhatsAppQuestions guests ask
How is this different from the Jungle Safari?
Safari is a passenger ride on the standard tourist trails. Off-Road is a private 4×4 with Driver Pong on routes he picks based on weather and your interest — actual creek crossings, mud sections, the trails the safari trucks can't do. Bring closed-toe shoes.
Can we get out and hike?
Yes — at each waterfall and viewpoint. Pong builds in 30-60 minutes per stop.
What if it rains?
Pong calls it. If the Khao Pom road is washed out, he switches to the Lamai loop. If both are unsafe, we reschedule for free.
