Sai runs a small private fishing boat out of the east coast pier. Maximum five guests, real fishing — not the line-and-bait dabbling the day trips do. Three slots: half-day at dawn, six-hour night run with squid lights, or a full day for the serious.
The boat is a 25-foot diesel inboard with a small cabin, two outriggers for trolling, and rod holders for six rods at once. Sai owns the boat and runs the day; he's been fishing the east coast spots for two decades and the success rate is high.
Half-day at dawn is the most-booked: leave the pier at 6:30am as the sun comes up, motor 30 minutes to the inshore spots, fish bottom rigs for snapper and grouper, back at the pier by 10am. ฿3,800 for the boat — at 4 guests, ฿950 each.
Night run is for guests who want the specific experience of squid fishing under floodlights. Six hours, 6pm to midnight, the boat lit up like a fairground. ฿5,400 for the boat, +฿700/person if you want Thai dinner organised.
Full day is for guests who treat fishing seriously — out before sunrise, multiple spots through the day, lunch on the boat, sunset return. ฿14,200 for the boat. Sai will adjust the itinerary based on what you're trying to catch.
What to bring: a hat, sunscreen, a windbreaker for the night trip. Sai supplies all rods, tackle, bait, drinks, and water. You bring food (or order through us). Cancellation up to 24 hours ahead is no charge; weather always refunded.

Why private over the joint Day Fishing trip?
Group size. Joint is up to 22; private is up to 5. You move spots when you want; the captain rigs each rod individually; you can target specific species. ฿3,800 for the half-day private vs ฿1,200/pax joint — at 4 guests, the private is cheaper per head.
What gets caught?
Snapper, grouper, parrotfish, barracuda, occasional kingfish. The captain has 20 years on these spots and knows where they are at each tide. Honest expectation: 6–10 fish per person on a good day.
Can the captain prepare the catch?
Yes. The pier restaurant grills your fish for ฿100/fish, served Thai-style with rice and dipping sauce. Most groups eat there after the trip. Lunch on board is BYO or order ฿700/person Thai food.
