Vickey is a 38-foot twin-hull sailing catamaran owned and skippered by its captain. Two cabins, a working galley, a bathroom, and a foredeck of trampoline nets where most of the day is spent. It carries up to ten, which makes it a good size for couples, small families and groups of four to six. When the wind is right, you actually sail.
Most of the catamarans on Samui charter listings are cruising cats: wide, stable, motor-driven, big enough for 12 or more. Vickey is a sailing cat, with narrower hulls, a taller mast and a real keel. The difference shows up on a windy day, when the captain raises the main and you find yourself moving at 7 knots in silence.
The interior is small but proper: two double cabins (one in each hull), a head with a marine toilet, a galley with stove and sink, and a saloon table where you can sit out of the sun. The foredeck is the main living area, with trampoline nets between the hulls, sunpads on the deck behind, and room for ten people to spread out without crowding.
There are five slots to pick from. The sunset slot (2.5 hours) is the cheapest and most popular: the boat leaves Bophut at 16:00, anchors off Koh Som for sunset with drinks on the foredeck, and is back by 18:30. The half-day slots (4 to 4.5 hours) add a snorkel stop and a real swim. The full-day slots (6.5 or 8.5 hours) are for guests who want the proper day on the water: three island stops, two snorkels, lunch on board. Food is extra on every slot.
What we recommend: if you're a couple, the sunset slot. If you're four, the afternoon half day, which catches the sunset. If you're six or more, the 8.5-hour full day; the per-head economics start to work in your favour at that size.
The captain handles everything on the water. Soft drinks, water and fruit are on board; you bring the food and anything stronger. Lunch can be arranged with us at booking, Thai (฿700 per person) or seafood (฿1,000 per person), or you can stop at Lotus's (the old Tesco Lotus) that morning and bring whatever you like. Book 1–2 weeks ahead in high season, 48 hours ahead in the shoulder season.

Questions guests ask
How is Vickey different from the Lagoon 52?
Vickey is smaller (10 guests vs 12), more intimate, and a sailing cat rather than a cruising cat: when there's wind, you actually sail. The Lagoon 52 is bigger and tends to motor most of the day. Vickey is the right pick for couples or groups of 4–6; the Lagoon for groups of 8 or more.
How does the price work for more than 6 guests?
The quote covers up to six guests. Each guest beyond six adds a per-person supplement, children under 5 are free, and ten is the maximum. Tell us the group size and the children's ages on WhatsApp and we quote the boat for your date.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. The captain will store everything in the cooler, and there's no corkage on alcohol. If you'd rather have a Thai or seafood lunch organised on board, it's ฿700 or ฿1,000 per person; order it at booking.
