Sailing Catamaran — Vickey
Twin-hull sailing cat, your group only — sunset, half-day or full-day options.
Vickey is a 38-foot twin-hull sailing catamaran owned and skippered by its captain. Two cabins, a working galley, a bathroom, and a foredeck of trampoline nets where most of the day will be spent. It carries up to ten — which makes it the perfect size for couples, small families, and groups of four to six. When the wind is right, you actually sail.
Most of the catamarans you'll see on charter listings in Samui are cruising cats — wide, stable, motor-driven, big enough for 12+. Vickey is a sailing cat: narrower hulls, taller mast, a real keel. The difference shows up on a windy day when the captain raises the main and you find yourself moving at 7 knots in silence.
The interior is small but proper — two double cabins (one in each hull), a head with a marine toilet, a galley with stove and sink, and a saloon table where you can sit out of the sun. The foredeck is the main living area: trampoline nets between the hulls, sunpads on the deck behind, room for ten people to spread out without crowding.
Five slots to pick from. The sunset slot (2.5 hours, ฿13,000) is the cheapest and most popular — boat leaves Bophut at 4pm, anchors off Koh Som for sunset, drinks on the foredeck, back by 6:30. The half-day slots (4 hours, ฿17,800–18,600) add a snorkel stop and a real swim. The full-day slots (6.5 or 8.5 hours, ฿21,800–26,600) are for guests who want the proper day on the water — three island stops, two snorkels, lunch on board.
What we recommend: if you're a couple, sunset slot. If you're four people, half-day afternoon (catches sunset). If you're six or more, full-day 8.5h — the per-head economics start to work in your favour at that size.
The captain handles everything. You bring food and drink; he runs the boat. Lunch can be arranged with us at booking — Thai (฿700/pax) or seafood (฿1,000/pax) — or you can stop at Tesco Lotus the morning of and bring whatever. Books 1–2 weeks ahead in high season, 48 hours in shoulder.

Book Sailing Catamaran — Vickey on WhatsAppQuestions guests ask
How is Vickey different from the Lagoon 52?
Vickey is smaller (10 pax vs 12), more intimate, and a sailing cat rather than a cruising cat — when there's wind, you actually sail. The Lagoon 52 is bigger and tends to motor most of the day. Vickey is the right pick for couples or groups of 4–6; the Lagoon for groups of 8+.
What's the price for more than 6 guests?
The base price is for up to 6. Each extra guest is +฿1,500. Children under 5 are free. Maximum 10.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes. The captain will store everything in the cooler. There's no corkage on alcohol. If you want a Thai or seafood lunch organised on board, ฿700/฿1,000 per person — order at booking.
